The Concept to Object class is a part of the Certificate Program in Furniture Design through the Professional and Continuing Education at MassArt.

This class provides students with the elements necessary to transform an idea into a project. The students draw upon everyday objects in nature, art, or other sources to inspire them to create their own objects. Some students are surprised by how difficult it is to convert an idea into a model, into something tactile and tangible and find that this class transforms the way they think about design.

This class is taught by Tom Russell, a designer and assistant professor of Industrial Design at MassArt.
